Be grateful for this new journey that God gives you. Become aware of being chosen and called. Jesus reminds us of this today in the Gospel: “it is I who have chosen you” (John 15: 9-17). Be grateful for this predilection and reflect: Why have you been chosen? The choice also implies a mission. What do you feel called to do? Where do you think God is sending you today to bring about his mercy? Offer your joys, your struggles and your works for the Pope’s intentions. In a moment of rest, reflect on the words of the Pope’s intention for this month: “Among the factors that exacerbate the problems are an economy and finances that, instead of serving the concrete human being, are mainly organized to serve themselves and escape the control of the public authorities, who remain responsible for the common good, but lack the necessary tools to moderate the exaggerated appetites of a few.” Are your jobs and actions aimed at serving yourself or others? Renew your resolutions and purpose for today.

The day is ending. Look for a place to discover and be grateful for the Love of God. How did you use the gifts that the Lord gave you, both the spiritual and material goods? Were you able to use them with sobriety or did you waste your time and talents without taking into account others or your environment? Keep in mind that “If we feel intimately attached to everything that exists, sobriety and care will spring up spontaneously.” If you see that you did not take this into account, ask for forgiveness and make a commitment for tomorrow.
