38058 have prayed

Let us pray that a spirit of dialogue, encounter, and reconciliation emerge in the Near East, where diverse religious communities share their lives together.

Lord Jesus,
you have come to us and you have chosen a specific land
where you have shown everyone who you are,
revealing the Father’s love for all his children.
We pray for all those who live the drama of war, division and persecution
and are discriminated against because of their faith
in the Promised Land and in the countries where your Apostles announced the Gospel for the first time.
May your Spirit touch the hearts
of those who are capable of making the big decisions,
to advance the path of dialogue and peace.
Our Father…

Offering Prayer

Father of Goodness, I know you’re with me.
Here I am on this new day.
Place my heart once more
next to the Heart of your Son Jesus,
that is given for me and that comes to me in the Eucharist.
May your Holy Spirit
make me your friend and apostle, available to your mission.
I put in your hands
my joys and hopes,
my works and sufferings,
everything that I am and have,
in communion with my brothers and sisters of this worldwide prayer network.
With Mary I offer you my journey for the mission of the Church
and for the intentions of the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network for this month. Amen.

Proposals for the month

If you live outside the Near East:

  • Become aware of the political and social situation in the Near East and share the efforts and initiatives that have been made to promote reconciliation and peace.
  • Collaborate, as far as possible, with institutions that support victims of war and persecution or religious discrimination in these countries.
  • In your own community, promote a moment of prayer and information about the spiritual richness of the religious traditions of the Near East, to grow in the awareness of the fraternity that unites us.

If you live in the Near East:

  • Seek to participate in initiatives of dialogue and cooperation between different religions and Christian confessions to build peace.
  • Create good ties with people of other religions, based on respect, forgiveness, and welcome, sharing the spiritual and cultural riches of their traditions.
  • Help, in a way that is possible, victims of violence, war and discrimination for their faith.
