Graciously embrace the new day and open your heart to the love that God has for you. “Many who heard him were astonished. They said, ‘Where did this man get all this? What kind of wisdom has been given him? What mighty deeds are wrought by his hands! Is he not the carpenter, the son of Mary?’ And they took offense at this” (Mk 6:2-3). “Dialogue among generations, dialogue among people (since we are all one people) is the capacity to give and receive, remaining open to the truth” (Pope Francis). With Jesus during the day

I take a break to look back on the day thus far and see how the encounters with my neighbors have been. What was the tone of my actions and words? “As Evangelizers, we get involved in the works and actions of the daily life for all those around us, drawing near to them and lowering ourselves to being humilitated if necessary. We participate in human life, touching the wounded body of Christ in the people we encounter” (Pope Francis). Set aside all other tasks and let yourself be silent. Recall your day one step at a time. Were you aware of the natural rhythm of your life and the lives of those around you? Did you let time go on, or did you identify a tendency to ‘speed up,’ like Pope Francis pointed out? How has this affected your relationships? Take a moment to talk with the Lord and ask him to remind you of the importance of little, everyday moments and not overlooking them in favor of big ones. Make this resolution in preparation for a fresh start tomorrow.
