Let us welcome the afternoon break, a pause to meet Jesus. What feelings inhabit our hearts? How have we lived the encounters with our brothers and sisters? Pope Francis tells us that “the proposal is to be present to those who need help, regardless of whether they are part of the circle of belonging.” It is about living with openness to others because of their sole condition as children of God, brothers and sisters among us, seeking their well-being in what is possible for us. Let us live fraternally in the little things of the day.

Enter silently inside yourself and be thankful for a new day. Contemplate Jesus close to the most unfortunate and the heartbroken. Review the faces that crossed your path. Have your gestures been a reflection of his love? Did you reach out your friendly hand to whoever needed it? Was there one that you did not like and remained in the peripheries of your heart? Ask for forgiveness if you did not remain in the compassion of the Lord. What could you do differently tomorrow? Write down a purpose. Hail Mary…
