With Jesus in the morning

I begin this day meditating on Jesus’ words: “If you knew what this meant, ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice’” (Matthew 12:7). Sometimes it is easier to make sacrifices than to forgive someone who hurts us. I give thanks for the experiences of mercy in my life; for the love and forgiveness I gave and received. With Jesus during the day

I have nothing that can please Jesus as much as opening myself to his grace and love. I desire to dwell in his heart, so that I can become a more kind, generous and compassionate person as he himself teaches me in his meek and humble way. I stand before the Lord as a disciple, thirsting to hear, learn and practice his teachings.

At the end of the day, quiet your heart and calm your thoughts. How loving were you throughout the day? Do you recognize that you could have loved someone in a better way? Do you feel rejection or attachment to something or someone? Loving others in the right way is the path to freedom and fulfillment.
