With Jesus in the morning

“Today there is a great silence over the earth, a great silence, and stillness, a great silence because the King sleeps.” Thus begins a very ancient homily in the Liturgy of the Hours. Today I take a time of silence, with Mary, to accompany Jesus who sleeps in the tomb. I offer him my life, my desire to watch with him, my questions perhaps, and my hopes. With Jesus during the day

In the middle of the day, we can say a few verses from the Psalm that the liturgy offers us, thinking of Jesus’ victory over death, “I was hard pressed and falling, but the Lord came to my help. The Lord, my strength and might, has become my savior.” (Psalm 118) I repeat the words which speak to me more particularly in this Psalm.

Become aware of your day and give thanks to God for any good that you did. Look at the experience and discover when you felt free in your actions and in harmony with your neighbor. How could you preserve and cultivate those attitudes from now on? Ask God to remain with you and guide you in your actions. Hail Mary…
