“A virtuous soul, but alone and without a master, is like the burning charcoal that is isolated: it gets cold rather than kindling.” (St. John of the Cross) It is possible that throughout my life I will let myself cool in the faith, becoming cooler in times of turmoil, falling into sin and turning away from the Lord. Knowing this, I must always commit to my schedule of prayer, thanking God during each moment of the day. I put into your hands everything that I will do, all the people I will meet, and everything that goes on inside me. I trust that, being united with God, my heart will always be warmed by his love and mercy.

I offer my life to God and pledge my willingness to serve my neighbor tomorrow. Our Father…
