Christians at the service of the challenges of humanity.
That all Christians may be faithful to the Lord’s teaching by striving with prayer and fraternal charity to restore ecclesial communion and by collaborating to meet the challenges facing humanity.
PrayerLord our God,
your Church has suffered and continues to suffer
the division between those who believe in your Son Jesus.
But there are already so many gestures and attitudes that speak of union and not of separation,
through so many men and women,
of various Christian denominations,
who collaborate for the causes of peace,
of the dignity of human life,
and care of creation.
Send, Lord, your Spirit over all Christians,
so that common prayer and charitable gestures
are a visible sign of the Church’s response to the challenges of humanity.
In a divided world,
may all Christians witness to the joy and strength of unity.
Challenges for the month
- Pray for the unity of Christians, especially in the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity (January 18 to 25).
- Seek to know and integrate collaborative activities among various Christian denominations in the service of the poorest and marginalized.
- If, in your local community, you meet Christians of other denominations, try to visit them and think about carrying out some activity in common: a prayer, a service action, etc.
